Adrian Bunge is a Developer/Designer at Nona and GDG Cape Town co-organiser. He will be speaking about tracking user/device location while the app is: 1) open (in the foreground) and 2) closed (in the background). You can check out the two repo's that will form the basis for the talk here:

Nick Rout is an Android Engineer at Over and the GDG Cape Town organiser. He will be speaking about WorkManager - the Android architecture component for deferrable, asynchronous background work: basic setup and usage of one-time and periodic work, incorporating dependency injection with Dagger and integrating with Kotlin Coroutines.
Alex Koller is head of Product at Luno, a Google Developer Expert for Android and a GDG Cape Town co-organiser. He will be speaking about running experiments on the Google Play Store and the value it can add to building digital products that users love.
As usual, drinks, snacks and some swag will be provided for attendees. There is on-street parking in close proximity to the venue.
We hope to see you there!
