About this event

Jetpack is many things to many people but one thing is clear: a number of the libraries that make the jetpack universe have become indispensable tools for android dev.
For our August meetup we look the jetpack cosmos from two angles:
First, Ahmed will be touching on how crucial Jetpack Components were when he needed to build a demo app in a very short space of time for a hackathon. This talk will dive into how these architecture components can a be very powerful inclusion in your production apps.
Afterwards Pamela will walk us through one of the latest additions to Jetpack. There has been much excitement in the Android community since the announcement of Jetpack Compose at Google I/O 2019, with a vast number of blog articles, talks, and sample apps advocating for this new approach to developing user interfaces on the Android platform. In her talk Pamela aims to take a step back and look at the bigger picture to answer the question — why do we need Jetpack Compose? She will then give a quick introduction to building user interfaces with Jetpack Compose using a small demo app.

Please join us for a fun and informative evening with these two great speakers!
