About this event

For International Women’s Day 2026, GDG Brussels and GDG Mons are joining forces for a technical event designed to do more than just celebrate—we’re here to disrupt. This year’s global theme is "Break the Pattern," and we are applying that lens directly to the world of Artificial Intelligence.

The "patterns" of the past often lead to biased data, exclusive development circles, and a passive approach to new tech. We’re breaking those habits. This session is a hands-on roadmap for women and allies to take the lead in the AI era by mastering the practical AI stack.

Why Attend?

We aren’t just discussing AI theory. We are looking at the tools, frameworks, and infrastructure required to build robust, ethical, and innovative AI solutions. Whether you are a dev, a data scientist, or a tech enthusiast, this is your moment to step into the spaces where technology’s future is being written.

What will you do to #BreakThePattern? Start by building with us. Let’s ensure the next generation of AI is shaped by those who aren't afraid to disrupt the status quo.

Agenda:

1. 6pm CET Urooj | Generative AI Engineer, Capgemini

  • Talk: Building Real World GenAI Solutions using AWS Services

  • Abstract: Urooj focuses on the practical, business-level applications of Data and AI. In this session, she explores how to build and scale GenAI solutions using the AWS ecosystem, specifically targeting the intersection of problem-solving, impact, and scalability to bridge the gap between engineering and real-world use cases.

  • Bio: Urooj is an experienced Generative AI Engineer at Capgemini and has been a Google Women Techmakers Ambassador since 2024. Recently, she was selected for the 2025 Transition Advisory Council of Technovation. Based in Noida, India, she has led, organized, and spoken at multiple IWD events. Beyond tech, she is a singer and a dedicated Taylor Swift fan.

2. 6:30pm CET Elaine | Senior Staff Engineer, SFEIR & GDE Flutter

  • Talk: GenUI: The Future of Apps?

  • Abstract: As an app developer, you may have heard that "apps are dead" and "the future of software is conversational". Those general chat-based solutions can be convenient, but they offer a limited user experience since they rely on text-only interactions. What if we could make our app shine by combining the best of both worlds: the convenience of a user-friendly conversational experience with interactive experiences? The GenUI SDK allows us to do exactly that by orchestrating the flow of information between the user, our own Flutter widgets, and the AI agent of your choice.

3. 7pm CET Shruti Tiwari | B2B SaaS Product Marketing Leader

  • Talk: Reframing Product–Market Fit: How AI Turns Signals into Strategy

  • Abstract: Product–market fit often hides in small, overlooked signals. This talk reframes PMF as an ongoing conversation with the market—and shows how AI helps translate those signals into meaningful product and marketing strategy.

  • Bio: Shruti is a B2B SaaS Product Marketing leader with 9+ years of experience at eBay, Amazon, and Walmart. Currently at GenRocket, she crafts GTM narratives for AI-led testing. She is a Women Techmakers, Grammarly, and GTM Ambassador, and a #IAmRemarkable APAC People’s Choice Award winner.

4. 7:30pm CET Hannah | Engineering Manager & GDE Android

  • Talk: Debugging Team Dynamics: Building a Communication Charter that Lasts

  • Abstract: High-performing teams aren’t built on technical skills alone—they are built on how we talk to each other when the pressure is on. When communication breaks down, we often assume it’s a lack of alignment, but more often, it’s simply a clash of unspoken styles. Hannah shares her team’s journey of working with an agile coach to "reboot" interactions and deeply understand communication profiles: the logical Analyticals, the people-first Amiables, the high-energy Expressives, and the results-focused Drivers.

5. 8pm CET Adejoke Adekunle | Founder, Abby & Convener, Function()

  • Bio: Adejoke has spent the last decade at the intersection of technology, talent, and organizational change. In 2018, she founded The African Tech Woman to amplify visibility for women in tech. At Abby, she works hands-on with organizations to deploy AI-enabled solutions that deliver real-world outcomes. Through Function(), her AI community, she brings together builders and leaders for grounded conversations about AI.
