This is a free workshop where you will be using Firebase’s Cloud Firestore to explore its realtime update capabilities.

Cloud Firestore is a flexible, scalable database for mobile, web, and server development from Firebase and Google Cloud Platform. It keeps your data in sync across client apps through realtime listeners and offers offline support for mobile and web so you can build responsive apps that work regardless of network latency or Internet connectivity.

For this workshop we will be using Javascript, and you will be introduced to Firestore’s Node.js client library. Cloud Firestore’s client libraries are available in C#, Go, Java, Kotlin, Node.js, Objective-C, PHP, Python, Ruby, Swift.

By the end of the workshop you will have a working web app connected to the Firestore database, and be able to see the realtime updates to the web app.

Prerequisites
This event is tailored for programmers – but everyone is very much welcome to join! There will be two levels:
• Beginner – People who do not know Javascript/Typescript/NodeJS. Most of the code will be given to you
• Intermediate – those who have basic understanding of JavaScript/Typescript/NodeJS
