About this event

We are getting visitors from Google Oslo! This meetup will have parallell talks so there will be something for everyone!

Talk.1 :

Creating a bot using DialogFlow and Firebase for Google Assistant by Usman Ali, Google Cloud Architect.

This GDG for Dialogflow + Firebase + Actions on Google (AOG) is suitable for all levels including beginners and is open for everyone interested in bot creation. By using DialogFlow and Firebase, we can make our actions creation process easier and faster. They are accessible, responsive, contextually aware and can be easily integrated with number of different channels.

The use of machine learning, voice recognition and Artificial intelligence is simplified and you can focus on creating the best experience to engage your users as well as enable other parts of google cloud to further enhance and personalize your customer experience

Prerequisites:
Laptop and it’s recommended to do following Codelab :
https://codelabs.developers.google.com/codelabs/actions-1/

Talk.2 :

Google Kubernetes Engine - The easiest way to run your kubernetes workloads by Per Anders Jørgensen, Google Cloud Architect.

This workshop is for anyone interested in modernize their applications using Microservices. We will give a short intro to Kubernetes concepts and architecture before we look into the easiest way to run your container workloads using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). You will also be able to try it out for yourself doing a hands-on lab where you will create your own Kubernetes cluster and deploy a simple app.

If we have time we will also briefly spend some time on our Istio support. We truly believe that Istio will play a key role in helping you make the most of your microservices. With Istio on GKE, we are the first major cloud provider to offer direct integration to a Kubernetes service and simplified lifecycle management for your containers.

Prerequisites:
Basic understanding of docker and containerization is recommended.
To do the labs you will need a Laptop and access to a GCP account. You can sign up for a trial here: https://cloud.google.com/free/
