In collaboration with NorApps and Apparat we are proud to present Firebase workshop with Googlers from the Firebase team. The session will be lead by:
Susan Goldblatt is a Software Engineer at Google. She works on Firebase as a front end developer. Before Google, she wrote a computer science curriculum for high schoolers and worked at a startup in NYC.
Lauren is a Tech Lead on the Firebase Team at Google San Francisco. Prior to joining Google, Lauren co-founded the storage-on-demand startup Boxit, and was the first Product Manager at wearable tech company Nymi. Lauren has spoken internationally about entrepreneurship and technology. In her spare time, she enjoys swing dancing, rock climbing, and writing.
They will take us through building an app using Firebase, and how it takes care of data storage, synchronization, file storage, authentication, and other backend functionality so that your time can be spent polishing user interactions. In this codelab you will build a Firestore-backend restaurant recommendation web app.
You will learn how to:
- Listen to changes in Firestore data in realtime
- Use Firebase Authentication and security rules to secure Firestore data
- Write complex Firestore queries
- Integrate with cloud Functions
