Women Techmakers is Google’s brand and network for women in technology, set up with the aim of highlighting brilliant women within the technology industry to be seen by all - inspiring, educating and creating discussion & ideas. Women Techmakers Belfast is a conference that has been running on International Women's Day since 2016 as a celebration of the technical achievements of local women.
This workshop is hosted by Women Techmakers Belfast to help attendees to hone their skills in public speaking and get them ready to submit an abstract to a tech conference!
No prior knowledge or experience is necessary; just a healthy enthusiasm and a willingness to learn about speaking in public regarding technical, business or work-related topics.
The workshop will take place in an inclusive and welcoming environment, taking you all the way from ideas generation through to tips and tricks to make public speaking easier and more effective, to writing a short description of your very own talk! You will also get an insight into the general process for submitting to a conference, and get familiar with the jargon used within the conferencing industry.
Additionally, you will get the opportunity to explore different topics and come up with an idea for a talk in a collaborative way, all under the guidance of two seasoned speakers who have presented at international conferences such as AppSec EU, DevOpsDays Galway, WLCW 2017, and Codemotion Amsterdam.
The event will run from 18.15 to 20.50 in the Event Space at Farset Labs.

The refreshments for this event are kindly sponsored by ShopKeep! Thank you so much!

If you attend this workshop and identify as a woman, we would very much encourage you to submit your talk to the Women Techmakers 2020 conference, however it is not compulsory, and all gender identities are welcome at this event! :)
