About this event

Long promised, it's finally here... Originally promised last June, we're finally going to Introduce Kubernetes Kubernetes is an open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Built out of Borg, Googles original tool for managing and maintaining it's servers and data centres, Kubernetes was open sourced and donated to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation in 2014, and has grown in popularity with the rise of containerisation.

We will be taking a brief walk through Kubernetes - what it is and how it does it, before using it to set up and deploy an application on our own cluster. No sys admin or development experience is required, or presumed so everyone should be able to follow along

• What to bring
Please bring a laptop if you want to follow along with the demonstration. A Google Cloud account could be useful if you want to deploy to the cloud - signing up will give you a free year

• Important to know
We're expecting this to be busy, so please consider if you're able to make it before signing up!
