We're back! Our first post pandemic meetup where we'll be going through some of the things we found interesting at Google I/O
31 RSVP'd
In our first meet up since COVID we'll be having a low key catchup and presenting some of the things that we found interesting from Google's I/O event.
First up is local legend Garth Gilmour, covering Kotlin and Android. Sorry for delay. In this talk Garth will explore the design of the next generation of Kotlin compilers, and the benefits these will bring when complete. He will also be talking about compiler design in general, and the fascinating subject of how 'Lowerings' are used to de-sugar higher level languages.
Second up is Simon Hewitt talking about Flutter and demoing an app for release on desktop and mobile from (mostly) the same codebase
Thirdly - could it be you? If there was anything on the program (https://io.google/2022/program/) that you think is of interest we'd love to have you speak. Just reserve a spot and then send us a message and we'll be in touch
CME in Belfast have kindly offered to host us in their offices and we cannot wait to see you all again! Pizza and beer will be available upon arrival with speakers commencing around 18.30
