International Women’s Day was first celebrated over 100 years ago in 1911. From big summits to smaller, intimate gatherings, IWD is a time to host events that create connections, educate and inspire tech communities. IWD is also a way in which we support our mission of building a world where all women thrive in tech.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked on March 8th every year and is an important moment to recognize how women have influenced the tech industry and beyond. It is also a call for gender equity worldwide. In different regions, the focus of celebrations ranges from general respect and appreciation for women to a celebration of women’s economic, political, and social achievements.
This year, the theme, "Dare to be" will encourage women to go for their dreams. The event will feature series of discussions, talks, workshops and games. The event will also provide networking opportunities, where women can connect with other women from different background and community, share their experiences and learn from each other.
