Natural Language Processing (NLP) uses algorithms to manipulate and understand human language and speech. It has been used to achieve a variety of tasks including sentiment analysis, text classification, information extraction, translation, topic modelling and summarisation. Classical NLP applies a variety of methods from character pattern matching to computational linguistics to extract meaningful features from text. Equally, it uses data modelling and inference techniques to achieve NLP tasks.
