About this event

Introduction

Welcome to the Build with AI: Hybrid Hackathon, where developers collaborate to use Google's Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence tools to tackle problems in the community. 

The goal of this hackathon is to enable you to use generative AI to the fullest and develop creative solutions that tackle the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

By taking part in this Hackathon, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend a series of pre-Hackathon workshops to increase your knowledge and abilities.

  • Get acknowledged for your exceptional work and have the chance to amazing prizes and lots more!


Event details

The hackathon is scheduled to start on April 29th, 2024 at 12 P.M, with a Kickoff call from 10 AM Prompt. This call will formally open the hackathon and offer key information/rules to ensure its smooth functioning.

We have also Scheduled an Info session for you to come with all your worries regarding this event and clear your doubts with us on April 1st, 2024 (P.S: Not April fool, 😊),

After the participating teams are announced, and begin hacking, the latest project submission should be on May 3, at 9 PM GMT+1. 


N.B

Prepare a compelling pitch deck that demonstrates the potential of your project to be presented on May 4th, where the top three teams will receive recognition and prizes.


Who can take part?

Regardless of your skill level, we welcome developers from all stacks, with products from all sectors tackling the SDGs. This hackathon offers an invaluable chance to improve your abilities and give back to the community, regardless of your level of experience. In this light, we have arranged a series of workshops that are available to the entire community in order to get participants ready for the hackathon. 

Don't pass up the opportunity to attend these sessions whether you intend participating in the Hackathon or not. They include:

  1. Overview of Generative AI
  2. Gemini 101 and Prompt Engineering
  3. Gemini's Multimodal Prompting on Vertex AI


Rules for the Hackathon

  1. During the hackathon, you will work on Projects in any sector as long as they make use of Google's ML/AI tools. 
  2. Make sure to sign up for your google developers profile. (https://developers.google.com/profile/u/me). sample: https://g.dev/ida
  3. ALL pre-hackathon workshops are COMPULSORY for all hackers.
