About this event

This month, Women Techmakers Baguio in partnership with GDG Baguio is celebrating International Women’s Day by organizing an event that aims to bridge the gender gap and increase equality in tech by providing the community an opportunity to meet individuals with the same drive and passion in technology; networking and exposing them to opportunities through engagement with different field leading speakers on diverse topics focusing on personal and professional advancement along with social issues.

In light of COVID-19, we recognize that our community is facing challenges with connecting in person. The health and safety of our communities is and will continue to be of the highest priority. In this uncertain times, we want to help our community to stay motivated and confident. With this, we want to reach out and support our community by conducting an online event that will promote remote collaborations. On this online event, IWD 2020, we’re inviting our community to share their superpowers - those special qualities that make you shine. Students and professionals will be given the chance to learn from field leading speakers as they share some of their many contributions during this pandemic and their contribution in technology. Together we'll learn about GSuite, AMP, GCP, Firebase with Angular and Kotlin. Also, we will be discussing about the current situation during this pandemic, the initiatives of one of our own in making 3D printed facemasks, and working/content writing remotely.
