Senior Talent Acquisition Partner
Galway Game Jam Community
Senior Game Developer
My name is Vanessa and I have been working in Genesys since January 2021, in the Talent Acquisition team. I have worked in recruitment for several years now, currently working in technology recruitment, and I would consider myself to be somebody who is committed to diversity, equity, & inclusion in the workplace, with the aim of creating equal opportunity for everybody. I hold a Master’s degree in HRM, having wrote my thesis on the impact on Employee Motivations in the IT industry in light of “The Great Resignation” of 2021. I would describe myself as somebody that is open-minded, outgoing, and probably a bit outspoken if I’m honest. In Genesys, I am part of the DEI Council Ireland, & I am also a member of the G+ Community in Ireland. We have lots of initiatives that we are working on to create a more inclusive environment, continuously trying to improve our approach to this and educate ourselves, as well as other employees at Genesys. I would like to talk to you today about the importance of inclusivity and diversity in the workplace, and how it can really make a difference to employees and also future employees.
My name is Sam and I am a 27 year old queer trans woman from Galway who has been working as a software engineer with Genesys for 2 years. I studied astrophysics in NUIG before going on to do a HDip in Software Develoipment. I would consider myself to be quiet but confident and I strive to be open-minded and inclusive in my everyday life. Today I want to talk to you about my experience as a trans woman in Ireland and in the tech industry.
Hi my name’s Daniel, I’m 24 and I am non-binary (they/them).
I have been working as a software engineer with Genesys for 3 months now as my first job since I graduated from Computer Games Development in UL.
I’m a very passionate and outspoken person, and I’m never afraid to be my authentic self. I believe in everyone’s fair treatment, respect for who they are and the freedom to be who they are regardless of their characteristics or any archaic notions.
I would like to speak with you about gender identity and expression, as well as succeeding while being your true and unapologetic self.
I hope to be informative and to dash the idea that you have to sacrifice who you are to be successful or professional.
