Crises, disasters do not discriminate against women and girls, but their impact does. Women & girls affect differently by crises. When crises strike, gender inequalities are exacerbated in such ways as:

✖️ increased levels of gender-based violence 

✖️limited or no access to life-saving services

✖️risk of exploitation and trafficking

Hackathons often lead to the generation of new startups, and through this hackathon, we hope to stimulate ways to apply AI to solve pressing challenges in natural disaster preparedness and response.
