PANEL DISCUSSION: 1pm-2.30pm

In celebration of International Women's Day, the Women in Tech and Entrepreneurship Summit is designed to bring together inspiring female leaders and innovators to explore opportunities for women in technology and entrepreneurship in Iraq. This event is sponsored by AUIS, Google Developer Group and Zain Iraq, and is organised by Re:Coded and Five One Labs.

Through inspirational keynotes, panel discussions on technology and entrepreneurship, and skills and career development workshops, this event provides all the content and networking opportunities for females to flourish in the tech and startup sectors in Iraq. Key topics the panel will discuss include the digital gender gap, opportunities and challenges in the tech and startup sectors in Iraq and the importance of role models to inspire more women to enter the world of technology and entrepreneurship! Panelists include:

Workshop 1 - Intro to Coding: Create an Android App
3pm to 4.30pm

Create your first Android application!

During our introductory workshop, you'll explore the basics of the Java programming language and XML. By writing your own lines of code, you’ll cover key coding terms and principles and develop a simple Android application

Prerequisites & Preparation
No previous programming experience is required. A laptop with Android Studio downloaded is required in order to participate in this workshop

Workshop 2 - Launching your Startup
3pm to 4.30pm

Do you have an idea for a business or project? Learn how to start it up!

During this introductory entrepreneurship workshop, you will interview customers, brainstorm innovative solutions, and develop a prototype of a potential business idea, all during the two hours. You will also be introduced to the Business Model Canvas and learn how to develop a testable business model. Note: to take part in the workshops, you must have the correct ticket. One workshop per person.
