I will demonstrate how AI automates risk analysis, task prioritization, and resource allocation. I will discuss how women project managers are leading AI adoption in tech teams.
7:45 PM	Why AI-First Architecture Could Be Our Next Big Engineering Crisis	In March 2023, a Swedish medical chatbot recommended increasingly lower dosages to a patient because it was programmed to be agreeable to user requests. In December 2023, multiple AI-dependent legal filings cited non-existent cases. These weren't just isolated incidents - they were warning signs of what happens when we build critical systems on foundations that can shift like sand. This talk explores the hidden dangers of AI-dependent architecture and why Python's engineering fundamentals matter more than ever. System Architecture Impact Traditional software systems follow deterministic patterns: components with defined inputs, outputs, and error states, connected through well-tested interfaces. Adding AI-generated code introduces non-deterministic elements that can ripple through these connections. When an AI component fails, it often fails differently each time, making traditional error handling insufficient. Like introducing random electrical surges into a power grid, AI-injected code can destabilize previously reliable systems. Case Study: The Book Mapper Application A seemingly simple application to extract locations from books and map them reveals the fragility of AI-generated solutions. Through three failed attempts using Vercel v0, Bolt, and Streamlit, we'll dissect how AI tools handled PDF processing, geocoding, and frontend integration. Each failure exposes a fundamental gap between AI's promise and engineering reality - from memory leaks to race conditions to dependency conflicts.
