Dear GDG Community and Leadership,
I am delighted to share an idea that has been inspired by the overwhelmingly positive response I have received from my community after sharing my recent experiences and participation in the GDG community and technology-related events.
Many young people from minority communities have shown genuine interest and curiosity about technology, Artificial Intelligence, digital skills, and the opportunities available through communities such as GDG. For many of these students and young people, however, access to information, guidance, mentorship, and professional networks remains limited. As a result, many talented individuals are still unaware of the incredible opportunities available to them in the technology sector.
I strongly believe that awareness is the first step toward empowerment. With the support and guidance of the GDG community, I would like to contribute by introducing more minority students and youth to the world of technology and helping them understand that their background should never be a barrier to learning, innovation, and success.
Therefore, I would like to respectfully request the authorization and guidance of the GDG community to initiate an Awareness Programme for Minority Communities. This initiative could include:
● Awareness sessions introducing students to technology, AI, digital skills, and career opportunities.
● Online seminars or interactive sessions with members, experts, and mentors from the GDG community.
● Guidance on learning pathways, free educational resources, and opportunities for students.
● Encouraging young people to participate in technology communities, workshops, events, and innovation programmes.
● Creating an inclusive environment where talented youth from minority communities feel welcomed, represented, and inspired to grow.
My intention is not only to organize sessions but to build a bridge between minority youth and the wider technology ecosystem. I believe that collaboration, inclusion, and equal access to knowledge can help us discover and empower many talented young people who simply need awareness and the right opportunity to begin their journey.
I would be grateful for the guidance of GDG leadership and community members regarding the proper process for initiating such a programme. If required, I am fully prepared to submit a formal proposal through the appropriate channel and work closely with the community to ensure that this initiative aligns with GDG’s values, mission, and guidelines.
Together, we can help ensure that technology reaches every community and that every young person—regardless of their background—has the opportunity to learn, grow, innovate, and contribute to a better future.
I sincerely request the support and authorization of the GDG community to take the first step toward this awareness initiative and bring more young people from minority communities into the world of technology and innovation.
