Getting Ready for My First Ever Hackathon Experience!

Hi GDG HackSpace Team,

I hope you're doing well. I have successfully registered for the HackSpace 2025 hackathon and I am excited to be a part of it. However, as this is my first time attending a tech event of this nature, I have a few questions to ensure that I am fully prepared and understand the process:

1. First Round (Idea Pitching):

Could you please confirm the exact deadline for the first round of idea submission? Is there a specific time (e.g., 23:59 IST) by which we need to submit our ideas?

What is the submission format for Round 1? Will it be a Google Form, a slide deck, a PDF, or something else?

How much time will we have to pitch our ideas (e.g., word count or slide limits)?

Is the idea submission entirely online, or will there be any in-person component?

2. Second Round (Prototype Evaluation):

After the first round, when can we expect to receive results on whether we’ve been shortlisted for Round 2 (online prototype submission)?

What is the submission process for Round 2? Are there any guidelines or templates we should follow for submitting our prototypes?

3. Third Round (Offline Grand Finale):

The ticket I received mentions “in-person” attendance. If I am not shortlisted for the final round (Round 3), will my ticket still be valid to attend the event offline as an observer?

Will there be opportunities to network and observe the final round, even if I am not a finalist?

4. General Event Logistics:

For the final round, is there a set schedule or specific times for the event on December 20th, 2025?

Will there be any preparation material or guidelines shared before the event? If so, how will this information be communicated (email, website, etc.)?

I would be very grateful for any clarity you can provide on these points, as it’s my first time attending a hackathon, and I want to make sure I’m fully prepared.

Thank you for your time and assistance, and I look forward to participating in this exciting event!

Best regards,

Sameer
