Slick/Shola is a software engineer and Tech Community Manager, with over 5 years of experience as a software developer and in the non-profit sector. Under Google’s community program (GDG), he helped facilitate major upgrades in technology advancement and promote innovative learning. He created a tech hub and provides educational resources and tools needed to promote innovative learning in his community. Driven by his passion to leverage the use of technology with an innovative approach to solve and address social issues, for kids and the girl child, he founded Codenovation, a unified technology-driven platform dedicated to closing the technology-talent gap in Africa. Recently, he trained over 3,000 teenagers and youth in digital skills and opportunities. He recently joined the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA). He spends most of his time organizing and speaking in several conferences and meetups across Africa where knowledge are being distributed equally amongst both represented and underrepresented groups. He presently serves as a Community Manager (Volunteer) for Google, Andela and Jetbrains. Shola loves to associate with people who love making the world a better place by contributing their knowledge and skills to create solutions that improve people’s lives. He enjoys focusing on topics of civic development, education and has a strong passion for youth empowerment. My goal is to make Nigeria a better place by contributing my knowledge and skills to create solutions that improve people’s lives.
