This month's Android GDG Meetup is hosted by Fitbit and its the Android Dev Summit pre party (not official)!
Join us for 2 excellent talks from the engineers from Fitbit Android team and a talk from Xavier Ducrohet from the Android SDK team :
1 - Bitgatt
Bluetooth low energy is ubiquitous and well understood by users, however this ubiquity works against Android for it’s strength as developers have to contend with tens of thousands of distinct devices all with slightly different behaviors. We at Fitbit realize that we can not manage all of this complexity alone and we have open sourced our Android low-level BLE library. We do, however, have a lot of insight into pushing bluetooth to the limit on mobile devices at scale on Android Lollipop through 10.
· Learn from the mistakes that we made when using the Android API naively
· See how we ensure the best possible performance on flagship phones while still ensuring functionality on older devices via automation and continuous integration
· Gain an understanding of how BLE works at a conceptual level
· Learn how to use Bitgatt to jumpstart your IoT development without the typical roadblocks of Android BLE development

2 - Force Dark Talk
How does the new Android 10 Force Dark feature work? We’ll get down into the nitty gritty of how it was implemented, and compare it with using the DayNight themes.
About the speaker:
Adam works on Android UI related things at Fitbit. He has worked with Android for the past 6 years and has also worked with other technologies such as Rails, .NET, and various forms of java web dev in past lives.
