TALKS & SPEAKERS:

- Interactive in-app gesture navigation in Android

In this talk Aleksei will explain the limitations of the standard Android navigation system and show how to create a custom interactive in-app gesture navigation

by Aleksei Zakharov

Aleksei is a software engineer at Instagram focusing on mobile development infrastructure. Previously was leading Android team at Lyft for 6 years.

- Publishing Media At Instagram

When people connect to each other on Instagram, usually they are sending photos and videos. Determining where these media will end up going and in what state they will arrive is a question whose answer is determined not only by the engineers working on various product surfaces within the app, but also by the engineers who work on encoding and delivering video from the client to optimize latency and reliability. In this talk, Bill will talk about how we do this work at Instagram, including our major technical constraints and challenges.

by Bill Phillips

Bill Phillips is an Android engineer at Instagram who works on media ingestion client infrastructure. Before Instagram, he was primary author of the Big Nerd Ranch Guide to Android Programming.

See you all there!
