Why is Elixir So Enjoyable?

Elixir is an up-and-coming language that many developers have heard about being really enjoyable. It's superfast with microsecond web response times, can be embedded into hardware, and respected developers have started migrating to use Elixir. David is going to break down why and what makes it so enjoyable.

Speaker - Jamie Bort -

D3

With the JavaScript library D3.js we can now easily do that right in the browser.

This is done by binding arbitrary data to the Document Object Model, and then applying data-driven transformations to the document.

Jamie will first briefly demonstrate how to set up the library. He will then demonstrating different ways to display a few data set using D3.js.

Speaker - Brandon Mathis - Freelance Software Developer and co-founder of GroundLift He is obsessed with helping technology companies and individuals in Triangle realize their full potential!

Scaling Your User Interface With A Design System

We spend so much time thinking about how our applications scale, do we give the same amount of thought towards how our user interfaces scale? Technology products can span across a multitude of platforms from web to native to desktop, mobile, and tablet. Companies can change and evolve. Crunch time doesn't allow us the care and forethought needed to build a consistent impactful user interface. Let me share with you how a Design System, consisting of a library of repeatable components and standards guiding the use of those components, can help your team scale your application across a variety of platforms.
