#Talk - Getting started with Open Source

Getting into Open Source can be very intimidating for a lot of reasons, maybe you’re a beginner in Tech, or you just don’t know where to start… I will tell you how I got into Open Source through Google Summer of Code and show you some ways of how you can get into and what you can expect from this experience. I will tell you about my experience with the Open Source community I’m involved with. Hopefully, by the end of the talk, you’ll be less intimidated by Open Source and try it out.

I am a Software Developer, from Portugal, currently focused on Android. I got into Open Source while participating in 2018 edition of Google Summer of Code. Since then I became really enthusiast about Open Source and want to spread the word to help people feel less intimidated about it.
