Title:
"Principles of Functional Programing with Javascript"

Description:
Why functional programing in JS, pure functions, currying, function composition and how to avoid side-effects and state mutations.

Bio:
After spending some time coding Javascript, he became interested in functional programming, especially due to realizing how fun it could be. When you add the variable “fun” while coding, you discover that there’s no way back for an “imperative-like code”. So he was able to stay focused on Javascript language, particularly React, having a special interest for the Ruby Language too.

Title:
"Enterprise front-end development with Polymer"

Description:
A gentle introduction to Polymer and Web Components and how they can power enterprise grade front-end development while still keeping modern frameworks (like Angular, ReactJS or VueJS ) relevant.

Bio:
After starting as a back-end developer focusing on the Microsoft stack (SQL Server, C#.Net), rapidly moved onto front-end development with JavaScript and JQuery/KendoUI. After the front-end framework scene exploded, André was quick to act as an evangelist wherever he was working, pushing for modern tech wherever and whenever it made sense. Today, he's a Software Architect at Thales Portugal leading the front-end development in an international project that aims to revolutionize and modernize Thales development environment worldwide, impacting thousands of developers.
