About this event

The era of "Chatbots that Read" is ending. We are entering the era of Agentic Vision and Autonomous Interoperability. ๐Ÿš€

In this hands-on workshop, we aren't just building a bot, but we are implementing Deterministic AI Engineering. Youโ€™ll learn how to build a system that doesn't just "guess"; it investigates, codes, and transacts.

Join us as we dive into the blueprint of the autonomous economy using Googleโ€™s latest "bleeding-edge" stack. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

๐Ÿ—๏ธ What Weโ€™re Building

We will "awaken" a multi-agent system, giving it senses, memory, and the ability to talk to other AI:

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ The Eyes (Vision Agent): Use Gemini 3 Flash with Code Execution. Instead of guessing, your agent will write Python code (OpenCV) to count and verify visual data deterministically.

  • ๐Ÿง  The Memory (Supplier Agent): Power your agents with AlloyDB AI and ScaNN. Learn how to perform near-instant semantic vector searches across millions of records.

  • ๐Ÿค The Handshake (A2A Protocol): Implement the brand-new Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol. Watch as your Vision Agent autonomously discovers and orders stock from your Supplier Agent without human intervention.

๐ŸŽ“ What Youโ€™ll Learn

  • How to set up AlloyDB with vector embeddings for high-speed AI memory. โšก

  • Implementing the Think-Act-Observe loop in Gemini 3 Flash. ๐Ÿ”„

  • Deploying a Multi-Agent Orchestrator using the A2A standard. ๐ŸŒ

  • Transitioning from "Generative AI" to "Agentic AI." ๐Ÿ“ˆ

๐Ÿ“‹ Prerequisites

  • A laptop with a modern browser (Chrome preferred). ๐Ÿ’ป

  • Basic familiarity with Python and SQL. ๐Ÿ

  • A Google Cloud project with billing enabled (we will provide credits/links where possible!). โ˜๏ธ

๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ Agenda

  • 09:30 AM | System Initialization: Register and fuel up on caffeine and calibrate your hardware.

  • 10:30 AM | The Awakening: Boot up with a quick icebreaker and the workshop vision.

  • 10:40 AM | The Forge: Hands-on engineering. We build the eyes, the memory, and the handshake.

  • 12:30 PM | Defragmentation: System cooling. Grab lunch and talk shop with the community.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Details

  • Date: April 25, 2026

  • Location: Room: DC 1351, University of Waterloo Davis Centre Library, Ring Road, Waterloo, ON, Canada
