GDG Tulsa hosts an in-person info session on Jan 15 designed for people who keep nodding along in meetings and want to finally have a real mental model.

We walk through the fundamentals in plain language: what a large language model is, how it's different from search, why "context" matters more than people think, and what the current generation of models — Gemini, GPT, Claude, open-source families — actually do well and don't.

We then go deep on Google's Gemini specifically: how it works under the hood at a conceptual level, where it lives (Gemini app, AI Studio, the Gemini API, inside Workspace, on Android), how it compares to other models, and why Google is leaning into agentic workflows for 2026. The second half is a live walkthrough — open AI Studio together, write a few prompts, watch the model think, and see how the same model can be wrapped into a chatbot, a research assistant, or an agent that takes actions on your behalf.
