👋 The "Anti-Crunch" Jam

We took May off to recharge, and now we're back with our favorite philosophy: Low Stakes, High Vibes.

We know you have a life, a job, and a need for sleep. This isn't about burning out to build a massive project; it’s about experimentation, community, and having fun. Whether you’re a 20-year software veteran, a digital artist, a student, or a "vibe-coder" using LLMs—you belong here. The goal is to finish something small, focused, and delightfully strange.

💥 The Secret Theme Constraint

To keep your scope tight and shake up your usual design patterns, this month’s jam features a hidden twist. We can't tell you what it is yet, but here is your only hint:

Expect the unexpected. You're going to need to keep an open mind, because we're forcing a situation where worlds collide.

The official constraint will be revealed live at our in-person kickoff event on Friday, June 19th at 6:45 PM, and will be posted to the Toledo.codes Discord immediately after.

🤖 Tech Stack & AI Policy

Use whatever tools you like—Unity, Godot, Unreal, JavaScript, HTML5—if it runs in a browser (or has a quick desktop download), it’s fair game. We embrace the modern coding landscape, but we ask for transparency. Please label your submission:

  • 🛠️ Category A: Human-Driven (Assisted)

    • You wrote the core logic. You might have used AI for autocomplete, asset generation, or debugging, but you architected the machine.

  • ✨ Category B: Vibe-Coded (Generated)

    • You prompted your way to a build. You used Cursor, Replit Agent, or ChatGPT to handle the heavy lifting. You "vibed" the game into existence.

🤝 Teams & Solo Devs

  • Solo: A great way to scratch a creative itch or learn a new stack at your own pace.

  • Teams: Grab a partner at the in-person kickoff or jump into the Discord. Split up the "Art vs. Code" or "Design vs. Audio" duties and collaborate!
