Dates: Feb 1 – Feb 22 (3 Weeks) Location: Virtual (Discord/Itch.io) Theme: Announced Feb 1st!
We know you have a day job. We know you have hobbies. We know you need sleep.
That’s why the February Toledo.codes Game Jam is built differently. This isn't about burning the midnight oil to build the next Elden Ring. It’s about hanging out (virtually), learning something weird, and finishing a tiny, quirky project.
Whether you’re a 20-year veteran, a "Hello World" student, or someone who just figured out how to prompt ChatGPT—you belong here.
To keep the scope small and the fun high, every entry must follow one "Scope-Crushing" constraint:
The entire gameplay loop must be 60 seconds or less.
What this means: Your game session lasts a maximum of one minute.
What happens after 60s? You win, you lose, you reset, or the world explodes.
Why? Because nobody has time to design 10 levels. Focus on making one minute of fun really shiny.
Use whatever technology you want. Unity, Godot, JavaScript, Python, or a TI-83 Calculator—if it can be played/rated by others (preferably in a browser), it’s fair game.
We are AI-Friendly, but Transparent. We’re embracing the chaos of modern coding. You are free to use AI tools, but you must label your submission in one of two categories so people know what they are playing:
🛠️ Category A: Human-Driven (Assisted)
You wrote the logic, but had help.
Examples: You used GitHub Copilot for autocomplete, Claude Code for debugging, or generated assets (art/music) with AI, but you assembled the engine and game logic manually.
✨ Category B: Vibe-Coded (Fully Generated)
You typed prompts, the AI did the heavy lifting.
Examples: You used Replit Agent, Cursor Composer, or ChatGPT to generate the entire codebase from scratch. You "vibed" your way to a working build without writing much (or any) manual code.
Note: Neither category is "better"—we just want to know how it was made!
Solo: Go it alone! It’s a great way to learn a new stack at your own pace.
Teams: Grab a friend, a coworker, or a stranger from the Toledo.codes Discord.
Tip: Since the game is only 60 seconds long, teams are great for splitting up "Art vs. Code" or "Sound vs. Design."

Wait for the Theme: We will announce the Secret Theme on February 1st.
Chill: Don't start coding yet. Just get your environment ready and maybe think about what kind of 60-second chaos you want to create.
See you in the loop! 🔄
