About this event

Our monthly meetup on the first Thursday of the month will have us build a fun app together in two hours.

Bring your laptop and we'll handles the rest together! You'll leave with a working app, a new collaborator, and someone to reach out to the next time you get stuck.
Come

What we're building
🏇 We're gathering at Circuit Launch to participate in GDG's Coding Jam Challenge and represent our chapter in the leaderboard.

Our selected track has us creating an app that can be used as part of a robotic fridge, though we'll stick with the AI app building and UI design for this meetup. We'll explore how the tech stack can help supercharge physical AI app development.

Antigravity does the grunt work and you direct it. The goal is low pressure, high creativity, ship something messy.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

A pre-flight checklist. Half the workshop time is currently lost to setup—this checklist gives it back. Drop-ins without the pre-reqs are still welcome; we'll support you.

  1. Install Antigravity: Download the desktop app from antigravity.google. The Jam runs on Antigravity—without it, you can't follow the codelab.

  2. Install uv:

    macOS/Linux:

Run curl -LsSf [https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh](https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh) | sh in your terminal. Windows: Head to astral.sh/uv for standalone installation steps.

  3. GitHub account + Git installed: Each starter is a GitHub repo. You'll clone it during setup.

  4. Google account: Used to create an API key at ai.google.dev. Free tier is enough for the workshop.

Coding Jam Schedule

Two hours with five movements. We keep the talking short and the building long.

  • 6:00 PM | Intro: Welcome, name tags, snacks within reach. The tone: low pressure, high creativity, ship something messy.

  • 6:05 PM | Demo: We'll demo a polished version of the project. Participants watch, no laptops.

  • 6:15 PM | Spec Talk: Walk through the design questions on the screen. The output is a one-page PRD.

  • 6:25 PM | Build (codelab): Run the codelab. Antigravity writes the code, you direct it.

  • 7:30 PM | Sharing: Three volunteer screen-shares. Celebrate the messy, brilliant, half-finished prototypes.

As always, we'll have plenty opportunities for networking and volunteering!

Light refreshments provided. Please RSVP to secure your spot.
