tCubed and Cloud Vision API

We have two talks on very new and fresh products this month! Some of you might remember Chris Sprague's presentation on micro-controllers a couple of months ago. Back then he mentioned a new device he was working on, but we didn't get too much info. Well, we are excited to have Chris back to present his invention! About this event

We have two talks on very new and fresh products this month!

Some of you might remember Chris Sprague's presentation on micro-controllers a couple of months ago. Back then he mentioned a new device he was working on, but we didn't get too much info. Well, we are excited to have Chris back to present his invention! Straight from the author himself:

tCubed: a new IoT device and marketplace

tCubed is a Bluetooth entertainment hub for playing games, listening to music, and extending the functionality of your mobile device into the real world. Unlike current platforms, tCubed-enabled apps encourage users to interact face-to-face with friends and family. Best of all, developers can use any operating system to control tCubed using over Bluetooth using our API.

Cloud Vision API

Earlier this year Google announced their Cloud Vision API - the technology that powers their image search, Google Photos, and various other products. It is now open to developers to utilize in their own projects. Do you want to build your personal photo album website and have it recognize your friends? Or maybe detect and even translate text on images? How about detecting popular natural and man-made structures within an image? All that and more is possible with the new API!

And of course we'll have a raffle while enjoying food and drinks by TekSystems.

See you soon!

PS: We are trying to improve the registration process and make Bob's life of letting people into the building easier. Please note that when you RSVP, it will ask you for your full name if different from Meetup credentials. This information will be used strictly to register you with security at VSP and have your name badge printed. If it's of any inconvenience to you, please feel free to contact GDG Sacramento organizers directly and we'll work with you personally to resolve it. Cheers!
