We share our impressions from the international meeting Google I/O Connect Berlin'26 and we’ll introduce you to Google’s latest premiere.
The conference in Berlin brought together Googlers and community members from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It spanned two days: the first was a gathering of GDG leaders from these regions, and the second offered a deep dive into the content of Google’s flagship annual conference, Google I/O 2026.
Following the announcement of the Googlebook program, we eagerly awaited the arrival of this new category of devices. Finally, on September 21, Google unveiled new high-end products from five top manufacturers. Why is what we saw truly fundamentally new?
Chat is solved, but where's the automation? Frontier LLMs without proper setup stream hundreds of tokens just to answer questions like "is this email phishing?" or "which team gets this ticket?" - slowly, expensively, and with zero real calibration behind that "confidence: 0.95".
A new model class aims to fix that. System One Models skip text generation entirely: unstructured state in, typed probabilistic decisions out. No parsing, no JSON repair, nothing to hallucinate - and trained with RLCD, so honest probabilities are the only reward-maximizing strategy.
