In this talk Omer Dawelbeit will be explaining the basics of Google App Engine (https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs). Google App Engine is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) that lets developers build and run applications on Google’s infrastructure. App Engine provides a wide range of services so you can rapidly develop applications from simple to complex. Developers can choose one of the following runtimes to develop their applications:

• Python 

• Java 

• PHP 

• GO

There will be a demo covering the deployment of a multi-module Web application uses of the datastore, Cloud Endpoints, REST APIs, different instance types and cron jobs.

Omer is a Google Developer Expert for Cloud and specialises in software design and development. For the last 10+ years he has been designing and implementing enterprise systems for companies like Vodafone, HP, Colt and Google enterprise customers. Omer is passionate about software development, emerging technologies and cloud computing. He is the founder of OfficeMA Timesheet and is currently the GDG lead for Reading and Thames Valley GDG.
