About this event

This year Oxford University will be hosting a devfest to gather the city's community together in a celebration of innovation and technology.

The devfest, while take place over the course of a day, will have two tracks: workshops and keynotes. Keynotes will be given by leading experts in AI, the theme of the devfest, and related areas. Workshops will allow participants to actually build with the latest AI tools including Google's Vertex AI.

The event will take place at Exeter College, Oxford.

We are excited to host Google’s annual Developer Festival (Devfest) here in Oxford. This event is dedicated to bringing together developers, researchers, and tech leaders to explore the future of artificial intelligence and its impact.

What to Expect

The day will be packed with deep dives, panel discussions, and insights from Google and the wider tech community.

  • Main (Google) Track: The main event will feature lone presentations focusing on core concepts based on Google research. These will be complemented by panel discussions designed to add vital interdisciplinary context.
  • Side Event: We are also running a dynamic side event featuring a panel where speakers will present individually. This track includes representatives from leading AI companies such as Huggingface, Alibaba (Qwen) and Moonshot.ai (Kimi).

Key Topics

Our sessions will dive deep into the latest advancements in AI and Cloud technology, including:

  • AI and Productivity: Exploring insights from Google Workspace research.
  • Learning: Discussing tools that are changing education and research, like LearnLM and NotebookLM.
  • Geospatial Reasoning: Unlocking new insights from generative AI and multiple foundation models.
