Join us for the "Build with AI Osogbo 2026 Hybrid Buildathon," a unique opportunity for developers, designers, and tech enthusiasts to turn AI concepts into reality.
Over the course of 14 days, from May 11 to May 20, work collaboratively in a virtual environment to create AI solutions with real-world applications.
The event will culminate in a thrilling Demo Day on May 23, in Osogbo, where you'll present your groundbreaking solutions to an eager audience. Don't miss this chance to make an impact and shape the future of AI in Nigeria.
Teams are strictly prohibited from building generic chatbots. They are tasked with developing B2B or high-value B2C solutions that address immediate local pain points in Osun State using a 100% Google tech stack:
Agriculture & Climate Adaptation (Gemini API & Google Earth Engine): Create climate-smart solutions for local farmers by combining satellite data with conversational AI (e.g., a Yoruba-language AI crop advisor).
Civic Tech & Public Accountability (Google Cloud & Vertex AI): Build digital democracy tools that make government data accessible and trackable for everyday citizens (e.g., constituency project trackers or interactive civic flashcards).
Logistics & Market Supply Chain (Google Maps Platform & AppSheet): Address the movement of goods from rural farms to Osogbo markets, focusing on operational efficiency for clearing and forwarding or local distributors.
EdTech & Accessible Learning (MediaPipe & Google Workspace): Target the digital divide in education, specifically focusing on primary literacy and STEM accessibility in underserved areas using on-device ML.
SME Digitization & Commerce (Firebase & Google Analytics): Empower local artisans and small business owners to establish a secure, data-driven digital presence with automated customer service capabilities.
To qualify for the judging round, every team must meet the "Rule of 3" tech stack mandate:
AI Logic: Actively use "vibe coding" methodologies with Google Gemini.
Framework: Build the application utilizing Google Antigravity (as the primary agentic IDE), Gemini API, Vertex AI, or AppSheet.
Deployment: Push the final application live to Google Cloud. Localhost presentations will automatically score zero points for technical execution.
Register now and be part of this transformative journey!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Action: Complete the official registration form via the application portal HERE.
What You Need: A brief summary of your tech stack experience (or domain expertise if you are a non-technical participant), your GitHub/portfolio link, and a statement of interest.
Pro Tip: If you already have a team or a specific Osun-based problem you want to solve (Agriculture, EdTech, Civic Tech, etc.), mention it in your application to boost your chances of selection.
Action: Once selected, you will be invited to the official Buildathon Virtual Hub (WhatsApp/Discord).
What Happens: If you applied solo, you will be matched with a team to ensure a balance of Backend Developers, AI/Prompt Engineers, and Domain Experts.
The Deliverable: Your team must immediately select a Thematic Area and finalize your "Pain Killer" problem statement.
Action: Begin building your MVP remotely using the required "Rule of 3" Tech Stack (Google Gemini, Google Antigravity/Vertex AI, and Google Cloud).
The Milestone (May 17): Your team must pass the mandatory mid-way check-in. You will need to submit screenshots of your early MVP, proof of active coding, and your system architecture to prove you are actively building and not just ideating.
Action: Complete the final Google Form submission for your project.
The Golden Rule (Zero Localhost): By this deadline, your application MUST be deployed live on Google Cloud or Firebase. Localhost URLs will instantly disqualify your team from pitching for the Grand Prize.
The Deliverable: A live URL, your public GitHub repository link, and a brief description of how you used AI logic to solve the problem.
Action: Arrive at the Oroki Innovation Hub in Osogbo for the high-stakes finale.
The Pitch: No slide decks allowed. Your team will have exactly 3 minutes to project your live, working URL onto the screen, explain the Osun-specific problem it solves, and demonstrate the functionality to the judges.
The Reward: Pitch successfully, and you could walk away with the ₦50,000 Grand Prize, Google Cloud credits, exclusive GDG swag, and a commercially viable product for your portfolio.
