Welcome to Hack Canada, the premier event redefining the hackathon model by moving beyond the 48-hour "One Hit Wonder" syndrome to focus on sustainable product development. Over the weekend of March 6-8, 2026, we are bringing together 800+ vetted, high-potential developers for an intensive 36-hour sprint, followed by a structured 30-day "Build Sprint".

This year, we are thrilled to feature a specialized title track: The Build with AI x Solution Challenge Track.

Track Objective: Solve Real Canadian Business Problems

We are challenging our 800+ builders to bridge the gap between Google’s cutting-edge AI and local ecosystem needs. Your mission is to identify a technical bottleneck facing local non-profits, small businesses, or community groups, and build an innovative solution to address it. The goal is to maximize on solving real Canadian business problems. (Suggested Problem Statements will be Provided)

The "Build with AI" Advantage -

• This track facilitates the core principles of Google's global Build with AI campaign, focusing strictly on learning by building. Participants will be equipped with:

• Next-Gen Tools: Exclusive access to build with the latest Google tools and models, including Gemini 3, Google AI Studio, Gemini CLI, and Google Antigravity.

• Workshops & Resources: Deep technical deep-dives and first-principles workshops led by Google Developer Experts and industry professionals. Teams will also receive Google Cloud OnRamp credits and Cloud Skills Boost activations to power their prototypes.

The 30-Day Pipeline: Global Stages & Venture Funding

The hackathon weekend is just the Seed Round. Shortlisted teams from this track will enter our 30-day Build Sprint to refine their prototypes into stable, deployable MVPs.

• The Solution Challenge Nomination: Shortlisted projects will be officially nominated and actively guided by our GDG organizers to refine and push their solutions into the 2026 GDG on Campus North America Solution Challenge.

• Venture Partner Funding: On Day 30, teams will present their polished products at Demo Day . One Top performer will receive the final "Completion Grant" but will also have the opportunity to explore direct funding and commercialization pathways with our venture partner, SPUR Innovation Centre.

• GDG Certificate of Participation, upon completion and submission of a project to the track.
