About this event

Kick off the June with a pure, hands-on deep dive into Google AI Studio. We are exploring the tool live, testing prompts, and seeing what you can build using Gemini without any friction.

Welcome to the execution phase. Exams are over, and it is time to build.

Join us for our first official technical session of the GDG UoN June Session! We are dedicating this entire session to one thing: Google AI Studio. This is the fastest, most accessible way to start building with generative AI, and we want you in the driver's seat.

This isn't a lecture. We are going to walk through the platform together, test out different prompts, and see what you can discover on the fly. We’ll look at what you learn during the session, iterate on it, and give you a clear roadmap of what to do next.

What to expect:

  • Platform Walkthrough: Getting comfortable with the AI Studio interface and the Gemini 3 and 3.5 model.

  • Live Experimentation: Writing prompts, tweaking parameters, and trying out multimodal inputs (text, images, code).

  • Show & Tell: Seeing what you and your peers manage to output during the session.

  • The Roadmap: We will give you specific challenges and directions on how to take what you learned today and start building your own tools.

Prerequisites:

  • A laptop and a stable internet connection.

  • Open Google AI Studio: Have https://aistudio.google.com/ opened in a browser tab before we start.

  • No prior coding experience required—just bring your curiosity!

Let's see what we can build together.

Event Agenda:

  • 7:00 PM - 7:15 PM: Welcome & Google AI Studio Interface Walkthrough

  • 7:15 PM - 7:45 PM: Live Exploration: Prompting, Testing, and Breaking Things

  • 7:45 PM - 8:15 PM: Show & Tell: What did you learn? What did you build?

  • 8:15 PM - 8:30 PM: Next Steps: Take-home challenges and prep for day 2(coming soon)
