Welcome to Day 2 of GDG UoN's Cloud Sprint with guest expert Alex Nyambura. Last night we learned the map of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Tonight, we are building the infrastructure.

If you want to host a live web app, a backend database, or massive folders of user data, you need to know where it physically lives. Tonight is highly hands-on.

• Compute Engine (VMs): How to spin up a Virtual Machine from scratch. Think of this as renting a blank, high-powered Linux computer in the cloud to run your code.

• Cloud Storage: Building storage "buckets" to host massive files, images, and unstructured data (perfect for heavy data science or media apps).
