Event Timeline (10:30 – 15:00)

10:30 – 11:20 – Registration, Welcome & Kick‑off
Arrive, check in, and grab your welcome materials. The GDG UniDeb team will give a short intro to the community and the mission of the “Breaking In” series. We’ll also run a quick poll asking: “Where do you feel most stuck in your career journey?” to tailor the day’s vibe and focus.

11:20 – 11:45 – Session 1 – From UniDeb to a Top Company
Speaker: Anurag Tiwari, Engineer at BMW Group’s Q✦Lab
Anurag will share his journey from being a UniDeb student to landing a role at BMW. He’ll talk about his background, key decisions during university, how internships and projects helped him stand out, and the mistakes he made along the way, giving you a realistic look at what it takes to get hired at a top company.

11:45 – 12:10 – Session 2 – What Actually Got Me Hired
Speaker: Velma Esonga – Data Science intern at NoviSad, Serbia, via AIESEC
Velma will break down what really mattered in her hiring journey as a Data Science intern through AIESEC. She’ll explain how skills compared to grades, how she started preparing even when she felt “late,” and what applications, referrals, and interviews actually looked like.

Take a short break, enjoy refreshments and snacks, and connect with speakers and fellow students.

12:40 – 13:10 – Session 3 – Applications & Standing Out in the Job Market
Speaker: Asfand Yar – Co-Lead of GDGUnideb, Teacher Assistant
Asfand will share how to stay competitive by using AI tools, smart networking, and a strong personal brand. He’ll give practical tips on securing jobs within university

13:10 – 13:40 – Session 4 – More Than Grades: Building an Active Student Life
Speaker: Aziz Laabidi – Academically active student and student leader
Aziz will share how he balances academics, clubs, and personal growth without burning out. He’ll talk about the value of startups, competitions, volunteering, and leadership, and how these experiences open doors to internships, scholarships, and networks, with simple habits you can start using right away.

13:40 – 15:00 – Interactive Fireside Chat & Q&A
All speakers join a moderated panel where you can ask anything about internships, applications, university life, and career decisions. The session includes short audience polls and mini‑quizzes with small prizes, and ends with a simple “one action step” each student can commit to after the event.
