GDGoC UM’s AI/ML Core Team, as part of its series of informative hands-on workshops, has recognized the need for a Google-platform oriented introduction to AI/ML. To account for this, the AI/ML Core Team is going to be conducting an Introduction to AI/ML workshop. This workshop intends to let FSKTM students, of any specialization and any year of study, gain some introductory knowledge into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), while also familiarising oneself with Google’s industry-standard platforms which enable for industry-grade ML workflows.

By organizing the Introduction to AI Workshop for Students, the participants gain:

• A new perspective towards the world of AI/ML, with a preliminary background on theoretical AI/ML concepts.

• Hands-on experience with industry-grade platforms such as Google Colab, Huggingface, Gemini and Tensorflow.

• A starting point for AI/ML experimentation, in the form of readymade inference pipelines in Google Colab notebooks, allowing students to experiment and extend further upon the same.

• Networking opportunities with speakers who possess industry experience.

This Workshop will feature:

• A hands on introduction to core AI/ML concepts, including but not limited to: Classifiers, Sentiment Analysis and Computer Vision.

• Sample demonstrations of Computer Vision and Sentiment Analysis using jupyter notebooks on Google Colab.

• Hands on introductions to ML inference methods using Teachable Machines and Huggingface models, with an advanced demo featuring the Gemini API
