We warmly invite you to participate in this exciting, one-day, in-person hackathon. Hosted by Google Developer Groups at Takoradi Technical University, the event is a fantastic opportunity for students, developers, and tech enthusiasts to delve into AI innovation using Gemma 4, Google's cutting-edge open AI model.
This hackathon is all about fostering teamwork, sparking creativity, and engaging in practical learning. Teams will collaborate to forge a working prototype addressing real-world challenges. Aim for practicality over perfection; showcase your creative ideas, effective solutions, and effective utilization of Gemma 4 to generate value in the real world.
Whether a novice in AI or a seasoned developer, this is your chance to glean insights from mentors, partner with peers, and showcase your innovation to a panel of judges.
Challenge Statement
Your mission: leverage Gemma 4 to devise an AI solution addressing a tangible issue. Projects should target practical improvements in areas that enhance people's lives. Potential focus areas include education, agriculture, healthcare, business, community development, accessibility, or any sector where AI innovation can enact a positive change.
The Hackathon Tracks
Here's what you can choose from:
🎓 Education: Innovate ways to enhance learning for students, assist teachers, or optimize educational processes.
🌾 Agriculture: Craft solutions to aid farmers, enhance agricultural methods, or boost food production.
❤️ Health: Develop tools that facilitate wellness, healthcare access, or offer health-related insights.
💼 Business & Productivity: Create applications that help businesses or entrepreneurs improve productivity or streamline operations.
🤝 Community Impact: Address societal issues or community-specific challenges with targeted solutions.
Submission Guidelines
Every team must provide:
Comprehensive Kaggle Writeup
A public GitHub repository or Kaggle Notebook
A functioning demo or a concise demonstration video
A detailed description showcasing the role of Gemma 4 within your project
Be mindful to complete all submissions before the deadline.
Evaluation Criteria
Your projects will be assessed based on:
Effective use of Gemma 4 – 30%
Innovation and creativity – 30%
Working prototype – 20%
Clarity in Presentation and Writeup – 20%
Who Can Join?
This hackathon invites students, developers, designers, and all AI enthusiasts to participate. Individuals or teams (with a maximum of four members) can compete.
