IoT Hands-On Workshop — Agenda
9:00 AM – 9:30 AM | Registration & Welcome (30 min) Check-in, kit distribution, welcome address by organizers, and brief overview of the day's goals.
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM | Introduction to IoT (60 min) What is IoT? Architecture overview, real-world use cases in smart homes, healthcare, and industry. Introduction to hardware: microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Hands-On Session 1 — Blinking Your First Device (90 min) Set up Arduino IDE or MicroPython. Connect an LED circuit, write your first blink sketch, and extend it with a button input. Guided by mentors.
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM | Hands-On Session 2 — Connecting to the Cloud (90 min) Use Wi-Fi or MQTT to send sensor data to a cloud dashboard (e.g. Adafruit IO or ThingSpeak). Visualize live temperature/humidity readings from a DHT11 sensor.
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM | Mini Project Challenge (60 min) Teams of 2–3 build a small IoT prototype of their choice — smart doorbell, plant monitor, parking sensor, etc. Mentors circulate to assist.
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM | Demo & Showcase (30 min) Teams present their prototypes (2–3 min each). Audience votes for the most creative build. Prizes and certificates distributed.
3:00 PM – 3:15 PM | Closing & Next Steps (15 min) Resources shared, community links, further learning paths in IoT and embedded systems. Feedback form and group photo.
