Time:
1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Venue:
Lab 1, 4th Floor
Computer Engineering Department SJCEM

Mode:
On-site Hands-on Workshop

About the Workshop

This hands-on workshop will introduce students to the world of Agentic AI applications using Gemini 3 and Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK).

Participants will learn how to build an interactive AI agent called “Raju – the Bargaining Shopkeeper”, a fun AI-powered shopkeeper who sells digital items and negotiates prices with customers.

The session will demonstrate how modern AI agents combine large language models, tools, and cloud infrastructure to create intelligent applications.

Students will build a complete AI-powered application stack including:

• AI reasoning powered by Gemini 3
• Agent orchestration using Agent Development Kit (ADK)
• Backend logic and tools written in Python
• Deployment of the application using Google Cloud Run
• A frontend interface where users can interact and bargain with the AI shopkeeper

What Students Will Learn

During the workshop, students will learn how to build a full Agentic AI application from scratch.

Key concepts covered include:

• Setting up a Google Cloud environment for AI development
• Understanding how AI agents work in real-world applications
• Using Gemini 3 as the reasoning engine for an AI agent
• Connecting the AI agent with tools using Agent Development Kit (ADK)
• Building an inventory system that the AI agent can access
• Creating a frontend interface where users interact with the agent
• Deploying the complete application to Google Cloud Run

Workshop Architecture

Participants will understand the architecture behind a modern AI system:

The Shop (Cloud Run)
The cloud environment where the application is hosted and accessible on the internet.

The Brain (Gemini 3)
The large language model that powers the intelligence and conversation abilities of the AI shopkeeper.

The Body (Agent Development Kit – ADK)
The framework that connects the AI model with tools and application logic.

The Inventory (Tools)
Custom Python functions that allow the agent to check stock and respond intelligently.

The Storefront (UI)
The interface through which users interact with the shopkeeper agent.

Why Students Should Attend

This workshop is especially valuable for students interested in:

• Artificial Intelligence
• Generative AI
• Agentic AI systems
• Cloud computing
• Full-stack AI application development

Building AI agents using modern frameworks like Gemini and ADK helps students gain practical experience with technologies that are rapidly being adopted across the industry.

Hands-on experience with AI systems and cloud deployment also strengthens a student’s portfolio, GitHub profile, and technical interview readiness.
