So, just what is our Hackathon?

🍎 Hackathons are cultural computer-sciency conventions that happen all the time around the world, with famous ones being hosted including CalHacks, HackHayward, LAHacks, SFHacks, and many more!

🏆 A hackathon is just like a marathon, but instead of running, you and a bunch of other friends and players are racing to build something cool — whether it be a small-scaled app, a website, a video game, and beyond!

💻 Whether you're a beginner, or are experienced in the industry, it's the perfect event where programmers, designers, and idea people come together to create something fun all from scratch!

🎉 Our goal is to foster innovation, problem-solving, and learning through hands-on experience. And ultimately, it's to discover computer science — all while having fun! (and maybe winning prizes while doing so!)

As a part of this goal, we believe SMCCCD deserves its very own platform for fostering growth and exploration in computer/data science for college students across our shared college district. This brings us to our own hackathon: fittingly titled The Third SMCCCD Intercollegiate Hackathon.
