NASA Space Apps Chicago is the local edition of the world's largest annual hackathon, happening November 14 and 15 at 1871 in downtown Chicago.

Over one weekend, participants tackle real challenges using open NASA data, working alongside scientists, engineers, and technology professionals from across the Chicago community. Local winners advance to global judging.

This year the event is hosted in collaboration with GDG on Campus Northwestern University as part of DevFest. Alongside the hackathon, participants can join hands-on technical workshops led by Google Developer Experts, covering AI tools and Google for Developers technologies applied to real scientific data.

The event is free and open to everyone. Students, professionals, and anyone curious about space and science are welcome, and no prior experience is required. Food and swag are provided.
