We are excited to host our first workshop “Switching to Linux 101” for our new campaign: "Opening The Black Box - A Linux Campaign." This workshop is a hands-on walkthrough of the full Linux installation experience, taking you from understanding your computer's firmware all the way to picking a desktop environment and getting your system up and running for your own set of tasks.

This workshop will take place in room 105 on 16th June at 1:30PM-3:30PM (Dubai time), you'll learn how to flash a Linux ISO, partition your drive, and navigate the installation process, all while getting familiar with what Linux actually is under the hood and exploring the beauty of its inherent customisability, control and a world of free and open-sourced software (FOSS). We'll also cover how to keep your Windows installation through dual-booting, and how to run Windows through virtualisation if you still need it. This workshop is for all students regardless of your background or experience.
