Introduction to Linux and Cybersecurity with CTF is a hands-on technical workshop designed to help students build practical skills in system fundamentals and security concepts. This session bridges the gap between classroom theory and real-world application by introducing participants to the Linux operating system, essential command-line operations, file systems, user management, and process control.

The workshop then transitions into core cybersecurity principles, including system vulnerabilities, basic attack vectors, and defensive thinking. Participants will be introduced to Capture The Flag (CTF), a competitive, problem-solving framework widely used in the cybersecurity industry to simulate real security challenges. Through guided exercises, students will learn how to analyze problems methodically, apply Linux commands effectively, and think like security professionals.

Organized on 13th February 2026 from 10:30 AM at C101 and C102, This workshop is designed primarily for 2nd and 3rd year engineering students, this workshop requires no prior cybersecurity experience—only curiosity and a willingness to experiment. By the end of the session, participants will have hands-on exposure to Linux environments, an understanding of foundational cybersecurity concepts, and experience solving structured CTF challenges.

E-certificates will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the workshop, with performance-based rewards for top problem solvers. This is an opportunity to build technical depth, sharpen analytical thinking, and explore cybersecurity as a potential career pathway.
