Day 1 of Build with AI is designed to introduce participants to the core fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence while laying a strong and practical foundation for the hands-on experience ahead. The session begins with a simplified breakdown of how modern AI systems work, including an introduction to Large Language Models (LLMs), how they process information, and how they are transforming industries such as education, finance, healthcare, and software development.

Participants will then be introduced to Google AI tools, including Gemini and Firebase AI integrations, and learn how to apply these technologies to real-world solutions. Rather than focusing only on theory, the workshop emphasizes practical understanding, helping attendees move from being AI users to AI builders. Through guided hands-on sessions, participants will:

1. Learn the principles of effective prompt engineering
2. Understand responsible AI and ethical considerations
3. Set up their development environment
4. Connect to AI APIs
5. Build their first simple AI-powered feature (such as a chatbot, summarizer, or smart assistant)

By the end of Day 1, every participant will have built and tested a working AI-powered feature, gaining both technical confidence and clarity on how to apply AI in meaningful projects during the build sprint on Day 2.
