Week 1: Intro to Blue Teaming & Cybersecurity

Session Goal

Build a solid understanding of cybersecurity's core tenets, the defensive mindset, and the networking that underpins it all.

Concepts

• The CIA Triad: Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability.

• Blue Team vs. Red Team vs. Purple Team.

• The 'Assume Breach' Mindset.

• Networking Fundamentals: TCP/IP, OSI Model, common ports/protocols.

Lab: Packet Analysis with Wireshark

Objective: Get hands-on with network traffic to see theoretical concepts in action.

Tasks:

• Installation & Setup.

• Capturing Live Traffic.

• Applying Display Filters.

• Following TCP Streams to reassemble conversations.

Requirements: A computer with Wireshark installed.
