This one's really three good things happening back to back, not one big theme stretched thin — a talk worth showing up for, a hackathon worth losing sleep over, and something rare: hunting real asteroids.

Day 1 (8th August, 9 AM – 4 PM) begins with the speaker session and flows straight into the hackathon, while Day 2 (9th August, 9 AM – 1 PM) is reserved for the final asteroid hunting experience, where only the top-performing participants from the hackathon, based on the points they earn, will advance.

Talk: We're kicking things off with a speaker session from Sky Eye Technology — someone who works with Generative AI day to day. Not a hype talk or a "future of AI" slideshow, but an honest look at how it's actually being used, what's working, what isn't, and where the field is realistically headed. If you've been curious about where AI careers are going, this is worth your morning.

Build: Right after, we move into a hackathon organized with HowToAlgo. Team up, get handed some real problem statements, and build something that actually works within a set window — not just a slide deck. Mentors will be around if you get stuck, and you'll pitch what you've built to a live judging panel at the end.

Discover: This is the part that makes the event different. In partnership with DEUXSTEM, we're giving the top-performing participants a genuine shot at asteroid hunting — using real image data from NASA and PanSTARRS, the same kind used in actual search campaigns. Based on the points earned during the hackathon, selected participants will advance to this Day 2 experience. You'll learn how asteroid detection actually works, and yes, there's a real (if small) chance you spot something that hasn't been catalogued before. It has nothing to do with the AI talk or the hackathon — it's just a rare opportunity we wanted to bring to campus.
